Jordan condemns terror attacks in Jakarta

Jordan on Thursday condemned the terrorist attacks in Jakarta that led to the killing and injury of many civilians, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani expressed Jordan's condemnation of the cowardly terrorist attacks.

"Jordan renews its support to efforts to enhance international cooperation to face all terrorists groups," said the minister.

He also voiced support to Indonesia in the face of terrorism, voicing sympathies over the death of victims.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Thursday condemned the attacks in the nation's capital Jakarta, which had left one policeman and three civilians dead.

Seven people were killed, including five attackers, and 20 others injured in the suicide blasts in Jakarta on Thursday, M. Iqbal, Jakarta police spokesman M. Iqbal said.

"Two of them (attackers) were suicide attackers, and three others were shot dead by the police just before their planned attacks," the spokesman said.

The two others who died in the attacks were a Dutch citizen and an Indonesian national, Iqbal said. Endit
