Greece condemns terrorist attack in Istanbul, expresses solidarity with Turkish people

Greece condemned on Tuesday the terrorist attack in Istanbul that has killed at least ten people, expressing solidarity with the Turkish people.

"We unequivocally condemn the abhorrent terrorist suicide attack. We express our solidarity with the Turkish people, our deep condolences to the families of the victims, and our wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured," read a statement issued from the Greek Foreign Ministry.

Greek officials were in communication with Turkish authorities to determine whether there were any Greek nationals among the victims or the approximately 15 injured from the attack that occurred in the tourist packed historic center of Istanbul.

According to the Greek Foreign Ministry it has received no such information so far. Endit
