Chinese women's basketball sees competition as fierce as the men's but sometimes not in a good way.

Guangzhou star center Yelena Leuchanka suffered the second attack in three days in the 30th round of match of the Chinese women's basketball league (WCBA) against Shanghai.

The 32-year-old from Belarus was given a black eye on Saturday night when Shanghai player Shi Xiufeng elbowed her. Shi was directly expelled.

Leuchanka took part in Saturday's match with seven stitches under her left eye which was resulted from a hit by Australian rising star Elizabeth Cambage, 24, who is also from Shanghai in the 29th round on Thursday.

Cambage was given a one-game ban for the hostile offence. Enditem
