China police bust "poker club" gambling house

Xinhua, January 10, 2016 Adjust font size:

Police in central China's Hubei Province have busted a gambling house disguised as a poker club, which targeted well-educated gamblers.

The gambling den made 300 million yuan (45.5 million U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2015 alone, the provincial public security bureau said on Sunday.

According to police investigation, the gambling house was named Wuhan PK365 Club, which hosts games of Texas Hold'em Poker. It has 17 gaming tables and two VIP rooms.

Police said gambling was highly-organized in management and service. More than 90 percent of gamblers to the house had college degrees.

In a police raid of the house, 140 gamblers and clerks in the gambling house were caught. Police have detained 21 members with the gang.

The case is still under investigation. Endi
