Croatia's tourism increased by 8.3 percent in 2015 with a total of 14.1 million visitors to the country, tourism minister Darko Lorencin said on Thursday.

Revenues from foreign tourists are expected to exceed 8.0 billion euros (8.72 billion U.S. dollars) he said, adding that the biggest number of foreign tourists came from Germany. A total of 2.1 million Germans visited Croatia in 2015, an increase of 6.3 percent.

Meanwhile, he said, domestic tourism also increased by 10.3 percent in the year, saying it showed consumption growth and economic recovery.

All Adriatic regions recorded a good tourist season, he said, adding the traditional strongest tourism county Istria had 3.5 million arrivals and Split-Dalmatia County recorded 2.6 million visitors, up 8.7 percent and 9.3 percent respectively. Endit
