Eurozone retail trade down by 0.3 pct in Nov.

The seasonally-adjusted volume of retail trade in November decreased by 0.3 percent from October in the eurozone, while it rose by 0.2 percent in the European Union (EU), the statistical office of the EU Eurostat said on Thursday.
Compared with November 2014, the retail sales index increased by 1.4 percent in the eurozone and by 2.6 percent in the 28-member EU.
Among EU member states for which data are available, the highest increases in total retail trade were registered in Romania, up by 2.6 percent, followed by the United Kingdom and Poland. The largest decreases were registered in Latvia, Portugal, and Estonia.
According to Eurostat, the 0.3 decrease in November in the eurozone was due to falls of 0.7 percent for automotive fuel, of 0.4 percent for non-food products and of 0.1 percent for "food, drinks and tobacco."
In the 28-member EU, the 0.2 percent increase was due to a rise of 0.4 percent for non-food products, while "food, drinks and tobacco" fell by 0.1 percent and automotive fuel by 0.3 percent. Endit
