Meeting stresses Party's leadership in national affairs

The top leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with CPC leaders of five major state organs on Thursday and stressed the need for them to adhere to central CPC policy.
The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee heard reports from the "leading party groups" of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as from the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee.
Leading party groups are made up of senior CPC officials of various organizations.
President Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, chaired the meeting and delivered an important speech.
In the past year, the leading party groups of the five organs and the secretariat, following the unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the requirements of the Party Constitution, have done a lot of important work, according to a statement issued after the meeting.
It was stressed at the meeting that this year is an important year for the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and structural reform.
The leading party groups of the five state organs must adhere to the correct political direction, discipline and rules, safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee, closely follow the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the General Secretary and carry out major policies made by the CPC Central Committee, according to the statement.
