Xinhua, January 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

Resale of Singapore's public housing units built by Housing and Development Board (HDB) fell 4.3 percent in December 2015 from a month earlier, official data showed on Thursday.

A total of 1,404 HDB resale flats were sold in December, a 4.3 percent decrease from November's 1,467, according to statistics released by Singapore Real Estate Exchange (SRX Property).

However, resale volume in December was up 8.4 percent on a year-on-year basis.

Resale prices remained largely similar in December on a monthly basis and overall, resale prices were down 1.3 percent from a year ago, SRX Property said, adding that prices have decreased by 10.7 percent since the peak in April 2013.

About 80 percent of the resident population in Singapore live in high-rise flats built by HDB and sold to local households under the basic principle of one unit per household. Enditem
