Xinhua, January 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

Qatar recalled its ambassador to Iran on Wednesday to protest against the recent attack on the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Tehran, according to state news agency QNA.

The Foreign Ministry "summoned this morning Qatar's ambassador to Tehran against the backdrop of attacks on the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Tehran," the QNA quoted Khalid Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al-Hamar, director of the Asian Affairs Department, as saying.

Earlier Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have cut their diplomatic ties with Iran, after angry Iranian protesters attacked Saudi missions against Saudi's execution of a Shiite cleric. Endit
