This year's annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will focus on new challenges in Asian and emerging economies and aim to inject new vitality into the world economy.
The annual conference, scheduled from March 22 to 25 in Boao, a coastal town in China's southern island province of Hainan, will be themed "Asia's New Future: New Dynamics and New Vision," according to a press briefing Wednesday.
"Asian and emerging economies are in completely different internal and external environments, which challenges their innovation-driven development endeavors and governance models," said BFA Secretary General Zhou Wenzhong.
"How they steer their economic restructuring, strengthen regional economic cooperation and improve infrastructure and technological innovation capabilities will attract international attention and dominate discussion at the conference," he said.
The four-day event will see discussions on the macroeconomy, political affairs, entrepreneurship, innovation, the Internet, social welfare, culture, sports and religion.
It will also feature entrepreneurs forums covering areas including frontier technology, advanced manufacturing and emerging industries.
Besides heads of state and government leaders, ministerial-level officials from 18 major and emerging economies have been invited to attend sessions.
A non-governmental and non-profit international organization founded in 2001, the BFA is committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals. Endi
