Singapore stocks close 1.06 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 29.96 points, or 1.06 percent, to close at 2,804.27.

A total of 1.20 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1,001.7 million Singapore dollars (698.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 251 to 131, while 546 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 1.74 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 2,834.23 on Tuesday. Enditem
