1st LD Writethru: 25 laborers injured in factory collapse in east Pakistan

At least 25 people were injured when roof of a ceramic factory collapsed in Pakistan's east Gujranwala district on Wednesday afternoon.

Urdu TV channel Abb Takk reported that the roof collapsed following the boiler of the factory exploded due to gas leakage at Sheikhupura road area of the Gujranwala district, located in the country's east Punjab province.

Over 50 people were working inside the factory when the accident happened, and some of them are still trapped inside, said the report.

Rescue teams arrived at the site and efforts to pull out the stranded people from the debris of the collapsed factory are underway.

The injured have been shifted to local hospitals. Doctors said most of the people have received serious burn injuries and 15 of them are in critical condition.

The factory and two vehicles parked outside were destroyed in the boiler explosion. Enditem
