India condemns DPRK's hydrogen bomb test

India Wednesday condemned the testing of a hydrogen bomb by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and urged the country to refrain from actions that affect peace.

"It's a matter of deep concern," Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup told the media in the national capital.

"We call upon North Korea to refrain from actions which affect world peace," he added.

The DPRK this morning claimed to have successfully carried out an underground hydrogen bomb test, which is more powerful than an atomic weapon.

"The republic's first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10:00 am on Jan. 6, 2016,"the DPRK state TV announced.

If confirmed, the latest test would be the DPRK's fourth nuclear test since 2006. Endit
