A suicide car bombing rocked Kabul on Monday, leaving the attacker dead, Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said.

"A terrorist riding his explosive-laden car blew himself up next to the gate of the Kabul international airport, leaving himself dead," Rahimi told reporters at the site of the blast.

No other person was hurt in the blast, the official said.

This is the second suicide attack near the Kabul international airport within one week.

In the previous suicide bombing on Dec. 28, the bomber and a civilian were killed and 13 other civilians injured. Enditem
