Saudi FM starts visit to Algeria

Xinhua, December 31, 2015 Adjust font size:

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir arrived in Algeria late Wednesday for a working visit to boost bilateral ties.

During his stay in Algeria, the Saudi foreign minister will co-chair a meeting of Saudi-Algerian Political Consultation Committee with his counterpart of Algeria, Ramtane Lamamra, according to a statement issued by the Algerian Foreign Ministry.

Arab and international issues of common interest are on the agenda for discussions, including Palestinian issue and the situation in some violence-ridden countries, including Syria and Yemen, said the statement.

Only two meetings have been held since the Saudi-Algerian Political Consultation Committee was set up in 2008, with the last session taking place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, in February 2014. Endit
