India attaches highest importance to relations with Iran, says Modi

India has said that it gives high importance to its relations with Iran and expressed its willingness to bolster bilateral ties.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed the message to visiting Iranian Finance Minister Ali Tayyebnia on Monday, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office.

It added: "Modi expressed readiness on the part of India to further strengthen bilateral relations, including in areas of trade, investment, oil and gas, connectivity, port development," said the statement.

India is developing Chahbahar port in Iran. Endit
