1st LD Writethru: 6 dead in building collapse in northern India

Xinhua, December 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least six people were killed and a dozen others injured when a building collapsed in the northern Indian city of Chandigarh Monday, said local TV channel CNN-IBN.

Most of the victims were laborers working on the doomed building, which also buried an unknown number of people under its debris, said the report.

Building collapses are common in India due to poor engineering designs, lack of safety measures and congesting conditions of the constructions. Endit
