World highest altitude swimming to kick off in N. China

International Extreme Race of winter swimming across Yellow River is scheduled to kick off from January 8 to 10, 2016 at Xining in north China's Qinghai province, local sports officials said Monday.

   Being hosted at Guide county at an altitude of 2,200 meters in Tibetan plateau, more than 70 swimmers from home and abroad have signed up for the world's highest altitude race.

   Low water temperature, high altitude, thin oxygen all blended well, making Guide an ideal place to host international winter swimming race.  Endi
