10 insurgents killed in latest Afghan cleanup operations

The Afghan Interior Ministry on Sunday said that the security forces have eliminated 10 militants in the latest cleanup operations in seven of the country's 34 provinces.

"In the past 24 hours, the Afghan National Security Forces conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations in Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Khost, Ghazni, Herat, Zabul and Helmand provinces. As a result, 10 armed insurgents were killed, eight wounded and six others were arrested by the ANSF," the ministry said in a statement.

The ANSF also found and seized weapons, said the statement that provides daily operational updates, but it did not say if there were any casualties on the side of the security forces. Enditem
