Two Palestinians were killed on Friday and more than 30 injured in another day of violent tension between Israel and the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, medical sources said.
The Palestinian health ministry in the West Bank said in an emailed press statement that a 38-year-old Palestinian woman was killed by Israeli troops' gunfire in the town of Silwad northeast of Ramallah.
Palestinian eyewitnesses in the town said that Mahdeya Hammad is a mother of four children and was killed while driving her car in an area where dozens of Palestinian young men and Israeli soldiers were clashing.
An Israeli police spokeswoman said in a press statement that the woman, who drove a car, tried to run over her car on Israeli soldiers, adding that when the soldiers saw the car is approaching them, they opened fire and killed the woman.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, a Palestinian young man was killed and nine injured during clashes with Israeli soldiers stationed on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said.
Medical officials in Gaza city said that Hani Wahdan, 22, was killed after Israeli soldiers shot him during the clashes east of al-Shuja'eya neighborhood east of Gaza city.
The officials also said that nine other young men were shot and wounded in various parts of their bodies, three of them were moderately injured
Since the outbreak of the violent wave of tension between Israel and the Palestinians, every Friday, dozens of young Palestinians head to the borderline area between Israel and the Gaza Strip and clash with the Israeli soldiers.
In this wave of tension between the two sides, the Palestinian health officials said that 136 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and east Jerusalem were killed since early October. Endit
