At least eight people have been killed in a gas plant explosion on Thursday in the southern Nigerian city of Nnewi of Anambra State, state police spokesperson Ali Okechukwu said on Friday.
Six persons were confirmed dead outside the perimeter fencing of Inter Corp Oil Limited (LPG Gas Plant), a subsidiary of Chikason Group, immediately after the accident, while two other bodies, a mother and her baby, were later recovered at a nearby building, the spokesperson told Xinhua. ISLAMABAD -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for New Delhi Friday evening after an over-two-hour visit to Pakistan during which he held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
The two leaders had a one-and-a-half hour meeting at the official residence of Sharif in Lahore, officials said. Several ministers and Pakistan's top diplomat Aizaz Chaudhry attended the meeting. (Pakistan-Indian PM-Visit)

ANKARA -- Turkish troops in Iraq training Sunni groups in Mosul are still in Bashiqa camp in northern Iraq, Turkish Defense Minister Yilmaz said on Friday.

SEOUL -- South Korea and Japan will hold foreign ministers'meeting next week to discuss about Japan's wartime sex slavery of Korean women during World War II, Seoul's foreign ministry said Friday.

DHAKA -- An attack on worshipers at a mosque of Ahmadiyya Muslim community in a western Bangladeshi district has killed at least one people and wounded three more.
