British FTSE 100 increases 2.60 pct on Wed.

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday increased by 2.60 percent, or 157.88 points, to 6,240.98 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 9.06 percent, leading the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, BHP Billiton, BG Group and Rio Tinto increased by 8.45 percent, 6.77 percent, 6.28 percent and 6.11 percent, respectively.

With a share price drop of 0.36 percent, Sports Direct International is the only loser of the blue chips. Endit
