A man was arrested by police officers under Britain's Terrorism Act on Tuesday, local police confirmed Wednesday.

Metropolitan police said the 31-year-old man was detained by officers at a business address in south London at 5:03 p.m. on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

The man has been taken to a police station in central London and remains in custody.

While enquiries are continuing, officers are still investigating a resident address in south London, police added.
