Top advisory body to convene in February

The top political advisory body will hold a meeting in late February next year.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Tuesday presided over the 38th chairpersons' meeting, at which the schedule and agenda of the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee was decided.

The meeting will be prepare for the fourth annual session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Tuesday's meeting also appointed Wang Guoqing as spokesperson for the annual session, replacing Lyu Xinhua.

Participants of Tuesday's meeting discussed the political advisors' consultation plan and the biweekly meeting schedule for next year.

A decision was also passed that revoked the CPPCC National Committee membership of Liu Zijing, former president of Guangdong Airport Authority.

The decision follows the announcement that Liu was put under investigation for "suspected serious discipline violation" by the local discipline authority of Guangdong in September.

Liu's disqualification will be submitted for endorsement at the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee. Endi
