Maya Moore scores 24 in WCBA season debut

Xinhua, December 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Superstar Maya Moore still needs some time to adjust herself to the Chinese Women's Basketball Association (WCBA) league.

In her first match of this season on Tuesday, Moore finished with a game-high 24 points against Bayi, while only making 10 of 28 field goals, including 0 of 9 three-pointer shooting attempts. Her team Shanxi lost the game at 88-72.

After helping the Minnesota Lynx to the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) championship in October, Moore spent some time in the U.S. recovering her knees. She arrived in China on December 15.

The Shanxi team are striving for their fourth straight WCBA title, a feat that only Bayi has ever accomplished in league's history.

In her first five WNBA seasons, Moore won three titles, along with MVP award and Rookie of Year award. No one has done that in MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL.  Endi
