Dubai Tourism launches Yoga initiative

The Dubai Tourism Agency launched on Tuesday the first official Yoga initiative "XYoga," and announced a festival due in February 2016.

The two-day "XYoga" Dubai Festival will be held on Feb. 19-20 next year comprising of mass yoga sessions, live music sets and interactive events, said Dubai Tourism in a statement.

The agency added it expects 10,000 people to participate the festival.

"We are proud of our partnership with the the new XYoga Dubai initiative as we celebrate the importance of an active lifestyle in Dubai," said Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Yoga is not only a common sport among Indian nationals who live in the United Arab Emirates, but it has also increased popularity among many expatriates (women and girls in particular) which make up to 80 percent of the UAE's total population. Endit
