A suicide car bomb claimed the lives of six foreign soldiers and injured three others in Bagram district of Afghanistan on Monday, an official with the public relation office of the NATO-led Resolute Support (RS) mission confirmed.

"Six service members of the Resolute Support mission died in a vehicle bomb and three others were injured," the official told Xinhua without revealing his name.

However, he declined to identify the nationalities of the victims.

The deadly attack took place at 01:30 p.m. local time outside Bagram airbase, the main military base of U.S. forces in Afghanistan since the fall of Taliban regime in late 2001.

More 13,000 NATO-led Resolute Support mission with some 8,600 of them Americans are stationed in Afghanistan presently, following the end of the combat mission of the alliance forces in Afghanistan in late 2014 and troops departure for their countries.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for the Taliban outfit, in contact with media accepted responsibility, claiming that a suicide bomber named Zahidullah blew himself up next to U.S. military in Bagram district, killing and injuring several soldiers. Enditem
