1st LD-Writethru: China to expand effective supply to shore up weak growth areas

Xinhua, December 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

China will focus on shoring up weak areas in economic growth by expanding effective supply, said a statement released Monday after a key economic policy meeting.

China will take targeted measures to reduce poverty by establishing a detailed register of the poor population and offering tailored capital and policies to make a real difference in poverty alleviation, according to the statement released after the Central Economic Work Conference.

The government will offer more support for companies to upgrade their technology and equipment and reduce their debt with innovative financial policies, folster emerging sectors and encourage innovation in technology, product and business models.

More efforts will be taken to improve the investment and operation mechanisms to make them more market-oriented and sustainable, the statement said.

It added that China will pay more attention to cultivating talent to ensure that the labor force can adapt to the changing market environment.

The government plans to beef up agricultural production to ensure food security and stable income growth for farmers by modernizing infrastructure and technology to improve production capability and quality. Endi
