Real Madrid score 10 against 9-man Vallecano

Real Madrid hammered 10 goals past local rivals Rayo Vallecano on Sunday afternoon in a game which was nevertheless impossible to draw meaningful conclusions after their rivals were reduced to just nine on 29 minutes.

Indeed it is interesting to wonder just what have happened had the referee not sent two Rayo players off in the first 19 minutes and while the straight red shown to Rayo captain Tito in the 14th minute is beyond doubt, the second yellow card which saw Real Madrid given a penalty and Baena get his marching orders five minutes later was questionable to say the least.

Real Madrid had took the lead through Danilo in the third minute as the full back pushed forward well, but Rayo then turned on the style and turned the score around in nine minutes with goals from Antonio Amaya and Jozabed,

It was then referee Iglesias Villanova stepped in, sending Tito off for a bad foul on Tony Kroos in the 14th minute.

Madrid drew level with a Gareth Bale header in the 25th minute and Madrid went ahead in controversial fashion four minutes later when the referee pointed to the penalty spot and sent Baena off for a supposed push on Sergio Ramos.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the penalty and against nine men with just over an hour to play and it became a question of how many goals Madrid would score.

Bale scored his second before halftime and would go on to net four on the day with further goals in the 61st and 70th minute.

Ronaldo also got into the action with a second goal in the 54th minute, while Karim Benzema also got his name on the scoresheet with a hat-trick as the outnumbered Rayo players visibly tired leaving big gaps in defense in the closing minutes.  Endi
