Norway crowned at women's handball worlds

Norway on Sunday defeated the Netherlands 31-23 in the final of the 2015 Women's Handball World Championship in Herning, Denmark.
The Dutch opened the scoring in one minute, but soon the Norwegian scored three goals straight to overtake the lead 3-1. The reigning Olympic Champions and European Champions Norway then maintained the upper hand with an 11-goal lead at 20-9 by the interval.
In the second half, the Dutch began coming from behind and with eight minutes left in the game, the gap was shrunk to five goals at 26-21. However, the Norwegian team was clearly in better shape, upsetting
the Netherlands 31-23 in the end.
Norway has been among the world elite in women's handball since the breakthrough at the 1986 World Championship where the team won a bronze medal. Since then, it has won six European Championships, and
two World Championships.
Earlier on Sunday, Romania took the bronze medal after beating Poland 31-22. All of Romanian outfield players managed to score with left back Cristina Neagu who scored 10 goals as the most prolific. Endi
