Bahrain warns public against funding, dealing with terror groups, including Hizbollah

Xinhua, December 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bahrain issued fresh warnings on Friday to the public against any deal with terrorist organizations or funding phony charities that are used by outlawed groups.

The Interior Ministry said it had taken a series of security and legal steps against organizations or individuals with links to terrorist cells.

"This includes anyone who joins a terrorist group or possesses images, logos or symbols in the support of one or more terrorist groups," said a ministry statement.

It added that investment, commercial and economic activity with terrorists will also be considered a crime, including those who patronize fake charities that are fronts from terrorist groups.

"Bank accounts and money transfers linked to terrorist activity will also be investigated," the statement said.

The ministry made clear that Hizbollah of Lebanon, February 14 Youth Coalition, Saray Al Ashtar, and Saraya Al Muqawama are all terrorist groups.

It said the steps taken by the ministry to fight terrorism coincide with the announcement of the Gulf Cooperation Council to work together to deal with terrorist organizations and conspirators living in Gulf countries.

The ministry applauded the decision of Saudi Arabia to impose penalties against individuals and organizations with links to Hizbollah. Endit
