Xinhua, December 17, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Indian government has revealed around 450 Indians are currently languishing in prisons in five countries even after completion of their jail term.

"As many as 446 Indians are in prisons or deportation centers in five countries including Pakistan, even after completion of their sentences," junior Foreign Minister V.K. Singh said Wednesday.

The other four countries where Indians have been kept under detention include Bahrain, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Syria.

"Indian missions/posts regularly take up with the respective foreign governments the early release of Indian prisoners who have completed their sentences," Singh informed the Indian Parliament. Enditem
