Spanish treasury places 2.933 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Tuesday placed treasury bills with a value of 2.933 billion euros (3.210 billion U.S. dollars) on the market registering a demand of more than 5.6 billion euros.

A total of 1.21-billion-euros worth of three-month treasury bills carried an average interest rate of minus 0.184 percent, compared to the previous minus 0.229 percent of the previous issue.

The placement also included 1.723-billion-euros worth of nine-month treasury bills that fetched an average interest rate of minus 0.010 percent, compared to the previous minus 0.073 percent.

So far, the Spanish treasury has placed 136.9 billion euros of medium and long-term debt on the market which represents 98.5 percent of Spain's financial goals for the year. The last auction of the year will be held on Thursday. Endit
