Xinhua, December 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

About seven Afghan army soldiers have been killed in separate incidents since early Monday, the country's Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"Over the past 24 hours, seven Afghan National Army personnel were martyred during military operations and enemies' attacks across the country," the ministry said in a statement.

The Afghan security forces' casualties have risen recently as they have assumed the full security charges from NATO and U.S. forces since beginning of this year.

Several Taliban insurgents were killed and injured after Afghan army launched operations in six of the country's 34 provinces within the same period, the statement said without disclosing the exact number on the side of militants.

The Afghan security forces has beefed up security operations against militants recently as the Taliban militant group has been attempting to take territory and consolidate its positions ahead of winter in the Central Asian country. Enditem
