India attaches highest importance to relations with Russia: Modi

India has asserted that it attaches the highest importance to its strategic partnership with Russia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed this to visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin in the national capital Tuesday.

"Prime Minister conveyed that India attached the highest importance to the strategic and privileged partnership with Russia," a statement by the Indian Prime Minister's Office said.

Modi also told the Russian Deputy Prime Minister that he looked forward to his visit to Moscow for the annual summit with President Vladimir Putin.

The Indian prime minister also expressed confidence that the summit would help raise the bilateral relations between the two countries to a new level, the statement said. Endit
