Four security personnel killed in Egypt's North Sinai

Xinhua, December 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four security personnel were killed Tuesday and four others wounded in a bomb attack in the restive North Sinai town of Rafah, state-run news agency Ahram-online reported.

"The armored vehicle was targeted by an explosive device that was remotely detonated outside Rafah hospital," a security source in Sinai told Xinhua.

The source believed that the assailants belong to Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, a Sinai-based group affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) militant group.

Egypt has witnessed waves of attacks launched by militants since 2013. Hundreds of police and troops were killed so far. The Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis group has claimed responsibility for most of the attacks. Endit
