Israeli security forces arrested a Palestinian man in the West Bank overnight suspected of a stabbing attack in October, the Israeli military said in a statement.
The operation, a joint effort by the Israeli military and the Shin Bet Security Agency, took place overnight in Ramallah.
"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet detained Bassel Mounir Mahmed Abu Ali for his involvement in the stabbing attack at the Tapuach Junction on Oct. 30," the IDF spokesperson said in a statement.
Nineteen Israelis and one U.S. national died in the past two months, amid an incessant wave of violence, in stabbing, shooting and vehicular attacks by lone-wolf Palestinians.
More than 100 Palestinians have died during this time, either killed during clashes with Israeli security forces or gunned down while allegedly trying to carry out attacks.
With that, Palestinian media outlets reported that a Palestinian man has died overnight in an IDF's operation in the area of Bethlehem, at the Deheisheh refugee camp.
The Ma'an news agency named the victim as Malik Akram Shaheen, and said he was killed from a bullet wound to the head.
The Israeli military did not confirm the reports over Shaheen's death, but stated that it had arrested 21 people in overnight operations in the West Bank.
The ongoing wave of violence was sparked by strife over the east Jerusalem site of the al-Aqsa mosque, holy to both Jewish and Muslim worshipers, and quickly spread throughout the country.
While the Israeli leaders blamed the Palestinian Authority for incitement to violence, based on religious motives, the Palestinians charge the wave of unrest is due to the 50-year occupation by Israel of the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip territories, where Palestinians wish to establish their own state, in accordance with the two-state solution.
