Xinhua Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau promotes "Xinhua Silk Road" information products at "One Belt, One Road" forum

A "One Belt, One Road" summit forum sponsored by Xinhua News Agency Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau was held on Monday at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, during which Xinhua promoted its custom-made information products of the Belt and Road.
Ju Mengjun, President of Xinhua News Agency Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau, said that the Belt and Road initiative has been widely welcomed and supported by people from countries along the routes for its conjunction with the people's willingness to build a better life.
Since the initiative was proposed, many countries along the Belt and Road have actively work out cooperative policies and plans to deepen connectivity and cultural exchanges. The ancient land and maritime silk roads are glowing with new sparks.
As China's largest national news service, Xinhua will increase its news reports on the Belt and Road initiative based on the central government's overall arrangement, and provide intellectual support with "Xinhua Silk Road" information products.
The products have been spoken highly of by overseas clients and gained wide attention from government organs, think tanks and entrepreneurs of countries along the Belt and Road since their launch on July 16, 2015, Ju said.
Amid the backdrop of economic globalization and integration, countries along the Belt and Road have become an interdependent community of common interests, destiny and responsibility.
Xinhua News Agency Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau will increase news reports on the Belt and Road issues in the region and build a platform for enterprises and other stakeholders by providing "Xinhua Silk Road" information products, Ju added.
Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee, member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong and member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, and Co-chair of the Martime Silk Road Society, said in her speech that the Belt and Road initiative offers a precious opportunity for youngsters in Hong Kong to better know histories of relevant regions.
"It is extremely important for Hong Kong businessmen, whether big business or small-to-medium enterprises and our young people to know about what's happening under the 'One Belt One Road' initiative. And I think there are enormous chances await Hong Kong to collaborate with Chinese Mainland to encore the unprecedented initiative," she said.
At the forum, the distinguished guests and audience witnessed an unveiling ceremony for the Asia-Pacific One Belt One Road Industrial Fund and the latest established Xinhua Finance Agency, a subsidiary of Xinhua News Agency Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau.
In addition, Wen Xinnian, General Manager of Xinhua News Agency Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau, signed contracts on Xinhua's information services with four clients respectively.
He also signed an agreement on cooperation framework with representative with the Asia-Pacific One Belt One Road Industrial Fund. Endit
