Spain's industrial production falls by 0.3 pct in October

Spain's industrial production fell by 0.3 percent in October this year in comparison with the same month of a year earlier, according to the Index of Industrial Production (IPI) published on Friday by Spain's national statistics office (INE).

The INE said that production of consumer goods fell by 2.1 percent with production of durable and non-durable consumer goods falling by 2.4 percent and 2.1 percent respectively.

On the other hand, production of capital goods and intermediate goods rose by 4.7 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, while production of energy fell by 4.4 percent.

Spain's industrial production had been rising for eight consecutive months on a year-on-year basis, only falling in January and October 2015. Endit
