5.3-magnitude earthquake hits off Taiwan coast

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted the waters along the east coast of Taiwan Thursday evening, the island's weather and earthquake monitoring agency said.

The earthquake hit at 10:31 p.m. And the epicenter was monitored at 22.58 degrees north latitude and 121.44 degrees east longitude, about 35 km away from the Taitung county seat in southeast Taiwan, the agency said. Endi
