Finland is preparing to send more troops to the crisis management operation in Mali, and is also planning to remain in the NATO-led military training scheme in Afghanistan until the end of 2016, Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Soini said on Tuesday.
Soini told the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat that Finland has now received a request from France for assistance. Soini did not specify how many soldiers Finland would send to Mali. (Finland-Overseas Troops)

ALGIERS -- Algerian army troops on Monday discovered and destroyed as many as 13 terrorist-bunkers in the east of the nation, Defense Ministry said Tuesday in a statement.
The source specified that the bunkers were discovered in the provinces of Batna and Skikda, eastern Algeria, adding that a gun and two hand-made bombs were found. (Algeria-Terrorists)

BAGHDAD -- A total of 888 Iraqis were killed and 1,237 others wounded in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in November across Iraq, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said in a statement on Tuesday.
