China imposes anti-dumping duties on MMA imports
Xinhua, December 1, 2015 Adjust font size:
China's Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday that it will impose anti-dumping measures on methyl methacrylate (MMA) imported from Singapore, Thailand and Japan.
The final ruling requires importers of the product to place deposits with Chinese customs ranging from 6.7 percent to 34.6 percent of the imports starting from Tuesday.
The ministry said companies from the above-mentioned countries had dumped the chemical into the Chinese market and such imports caused substantial damage to the domestic industry.
The ministry launched an anti-dumping probe into imported MMA from the three countries in August 2014 and issued a preliminary ruling on July 24 this year.
MMA is an organic compound that can be used to produce glass, plastic, paint and adhesives. Endi
