Mercedes-Benz to recall vehicles in China over airbag flaws

Xinhua, November 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz will recall 10,558 vehicles in China over defective airbags, China's quality watchdog said Monday.

The affected vehicles were manufactured between Jan. 12, 2007 and Dec. 30, 2008, involving C-class and GLK models of year 2008-2009, the General Administration of Quality Supervision,Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.

The automaker said a control unit in the vehicles' airbags may fail to work and the airbags may open even when the cars are not in collisions.

The company will replace the defective parts free of charge from March 7, 2016. Endi
