Japan set 16-gold bar at 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Xinhua, November 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Japan expects to reap at least 16 gold medals at 2020 home Olympic Games, Japanese media reported on Friday.

Tokyo will host its second Olympic Games after the 1964 edition where the country finished third in the medals tally with 16 gold medals, 5 silvers and 8 bronzes.

Japan's leading news network Kyodo said the country will "aim for its best-ever medal tally including more than 16 gold".

Japan also aims to welcome a record number of participating countries and regions at the Paralympics, it said.  Endi
