Macedonian customs seize 2.7 kg of gold smuggled from Turkey

Xinhua, November 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Macedonian authorities have confiscated 2.7 kg of golden jewelry and coins from a Turkish bus traveling from Istanbul to Macedonian city of Gostivar, local media reported on Thursday.

The gold, wrapped with tape, was put inside 20 plastic bags and hidden in a spot between the front wheels of the bus. The police detained a Macedonian citizen from Tetovo, who acted as a tour guide.

Macedonian customs officers reported earlier this month that they confiscated 1.5 kg of gold, also hidden in a Turkish bus. Enditem
