Indonesia sets target as champion at 11th ASC

Xinhua, November 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indonesia targets to be champion at the 11th ASEAN Skill Competition (ASC) in Malaysia next year, official said here on Wednesday.

The target was made as Indonesia use to have a position as champion at the 9th ASC in Jakarta in 2012, said Kahirul Anwar, director general of guiding, training and productivity of labor ministry.

"We are upbeat to get the position again. We target to be the champion," he stressed at the BLK building.

The 11th ASC is to be held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia from September 19 to 29, 2016.

The official said that preparation for the team to reach the target has been carrying out well.

At the 10th ASC last year in Hanoi of Vietnam, Indonesia posted the third position.

Kahirul said that the result was actually satisfactory though it was not the champion.

The ASC is participated by ASEAN member countries, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia.  Endi
