Bangladesh youth arrested on charge of IS propaganda

An about 25-year-old youth has been arrested on the charge of spreading Islamic State (IS) propaganda in Bangladesh.

A mobile SMS sent by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Wednesday said that the youth identified as Nahid Hossain was arrested from a capital Dhaka area Tuesday night.

"The detainee was spreading propaganda in favor of so called IS through internet using a fake name Jihadi Jhon," said the SMS.

No further details were given about the arrest.

The youth was arrested at a time when Bangladesh rules out jihadists' links to recent killing of two foreigners and some secular writers and policemen. Endit
