Symposium held for late senior CPC official

A symposium was held in Beijing on Wednesday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Deng Liqun, a former senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Deng, who died on Feb. 10 this year, was a member of the 12th CPC Central Committee and the CPC Central Advisory Commission. He also served as a CPC publicity chief and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee during a distinguished career.
Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the symposium and met Deng's relatives prior to the event.
Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, recalled Deng's "high moral character and revolutionary demeanor" at the symposium.
He called on people to "learn from Deng's revolutionary spirit of sticking to lofty ideals and beliefs" and his "integrating theory with practice." Endi
