Urgent: Oil prices jump amid geopolitical worries

Oil prices soared Tuesday after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane in Syria alleged airspace violation.

The West Texas Intermediate for January delivery moved up 1.12 U.S. dollars to settle at 42.87 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for January delivery increased 1.29 dollars to close at 46.12 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. Enditem
