Vietnam to elect deputies of parliament in next May

Election of deputies for the next Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) tenure (2016-2021) is fixed on May 22, 2016, the parliament decided on Tuesday.

The decision is made at the ongoing 10th session of the 13th NA in Vietnam's capital Hanoi. Accordingly, the election of people's councils at all level for 2016-2021 tenure will also be held on the same day.

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung will be the chairman of the national electoral council for the upcoming elections of NA and people's councils at all level.

National Assembly is the legislative body of Vietnam. It exercises the supreme supervisory power over the implementation of the constitution and laws, and controls the management of the state apparatus in all areas of social life, among other functions. Enditem
